New Vampire Hunter D Film Renamed
July 3, 2001
The following information is from Urban Vision:
In order to avoid confusion with its predecessor, it was
clear that we needed to alter the name a little bit for the
release of the new movie here in the US.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust will be the complete title.
This movie is not a remake of the old 1985 Vampire Hunter
D video, and while it may be considered a sequel, you need
not have watched the first movie to understand this one. Bloodlust
is an entirely new film, based off primarily the third novel
on D written by Hideyuki Kikuchi, with a completely original
story and new characters. It has also been animated by the
renowned MADHOUSE STUDIOS, directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri,
best known for productions such as Ninja Scroll and Wicked
City.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is a completely new entity
of its own, setting a precedent in animation. Look for it
this fall in theaters!
Come visit our booth at Anime Expo 2001! The Vampire Hunter
D: Bloodlust booth will be located next to the Urban Vision

D booth!
