The Summary

Now that Dabura is dead, Babidi's ship is gone, and the intense fight between Vegeta and Buu getting into serious action, what will today hold in store for us?

In short, this episode was all about Buu getting his butt whipped by Majin Vegeta, and then the reversal of the butt whooping. Vegeta drives an enormous ki blast that leaves giant hole through Buu's belly. However, Buu regenerates his belly with minimal effort, and Vegeta doesn't know how he'll win with Buu's regenerative abilities. After Vegeta blasts him, Buu becomes enraged and then gives off a large blast. Despite the GIGANTIC blast given off by Buu, he doesn't seem worn down at all, though Vegeta looks pretty much done for.

After a rally of energy blasts and teleportation, Buu suddenly grabs a piece of his large belly. He stretches it out and throws energy blasts from it at Vegeta. After his fun is over, he throws it at Vegeta. The belly blob holds him in a coil restraint, and he can't get out, no matter how hard he tries. Here, Buu just keeps on punching him at point blank range. Towards the end we see Trunks get angry with his father's beating and turns super saiyan. It closes by showing him rush in to help.

The Review

I really enjoyed this episode. It contained elements of surprise, fascination, and power. It was amazing to witness Buu's constant regenerations. It was like Cell all over again. The way that Vegeta was portrayed also seemed different, yet amusing. He didn't seem blown back at his abilities, nor was he overly confident of victory. I liked that.

The sequence where Buu powered up his "multi-directional energy attack" was great. The camera slowly receded away as the power grew and then after it was done, Buu stood atop the giant crater. The same effective technique was utilized when Vegeta blasted a hole in Buu's tummy. The background got bolder and darker, and Vegeta got lighter and more defined.

The music in this episode was just awesome. Listen to the part where everyone thinks Vegeta has killed Buu with his "hole" attack. Funky, new, and fitting. Very nice.

Ultimately, I think that today was a day of recuperating thoughts, and to open the future events with. It ended on a high note, which is always a plus.
