BFP Rumors

December 15, 2000

Word is out that the Bid For Power team received a cease and decist letter from FUNimation. This was just days after FUNimation sold the DBZ game selling rights to Infogrames. But it seems that all is not over yet, according to one of the developers FUNimation may be reconsidering.

Here is what Yrgol (one of the developers) had to say:

Funimation did indeed send us a cease and decist letter within days of selling dbz game rights to Infogrames. However, they have decided to take a closer look at the situation. We did not want to jump the gun on being foxed, because things are still fairly up in the air. We did not want the slashdot post to happen.

For those of you not familiar with BFP, it is a Quake 3 mod that has been in the works for quite some time. It is not made officially by any companies but instead by DBZ fans in the mod-making community.
