Burger King's DBZ promotion

Burger King will launch a DBZ promotion due to the huge success of another Japanese import, Pokemon. The promotion will include seven figurines and trading cards. There will be National TV advertisement to support the promotion. This may help boost DBZ awareness because there are no DBZ ads on any station but on the stations that air it.

Here is what "Nations Restaurant News," had to say.

Miami-- Burger King Corp., whose Pokemon promotion was so successful that it ran twice, plans to tie in to another popular Japanese import, "Dragon Ball Z" with a big kids Meal promotion May 29- June 18. "Dragon Ball Z" is an animated series airing on the Cartoon Network. Seven toy figurines based on the program will be included in meals. Exclusive trading cards also will be available. National TV adverising will support the promotion.

The show has been popular in Japan for a number of years and has attracted millions of kids to the Cartoon Network. The series "follows the story of Goku, who was sent by his people, the Saiyans, to destroy Earth," acording to the network.
